Milarepa Center is located in northeastern Vermont on the New Hampshire border, one hour north of White River Junction off of Interstate 91. We are located approximately one hour south of the Canadian border and three hours northwest of Boston.

DRIVING 

DIRECTIONS

Driving from the South

On Interstate 91, take Exit 18. Turn right at the exit and take the first left onto Church Street until it ends at a stop sign (the Barnet Village Store will be on your right). Turn left onto US 5 (which isn’t marked). Go half a mile, just after going under the two underpasses, turn hard left into the driveway marked by a Milarepa sign with prayer banners.

Driving from the North

On Interstate 91, take Exit 18. Turn left at the exit and follow the instructions above taking the first left onto Church Street.

Please note: Our driveway is unpaved and quite steep. During the winter season we keep our driveway plowed at all times and sanded for guests arriving for retreat.

Apex Car Service
Apex offers rides to Milarepa Center with pickup from White River Junction, Vermont and Hanover or Lebanon, New Hampshire. Base rate of $138 for 1 or 2 people. Third person is an additional $30. In addition, there will also be a 20% driver gratuity added to the base rate and a $6 per car fuel fee. Apex accepts credit cards.


To make pickup arrangements with Apex, call their reservations line at (603) 252-8294. Arrangements should be made at least 48 hours in advance. The minimum advance time to schedule a pickup is 24 hours.

Rural Community Transportation

Rural Community Transportation (RCT) offers shuttle service between Milarepa and most nearby towns. Common towns for pickup include: White River Junction, Montpelier, and Burlington, Vermont and Hanover and Lebanon, New Hampshire; and Magog, Quebec.

Cost for one-way travel to Milarepa varies by pickup location and number of passengers: approximately $35 each for two people from White River Junction or Hanover (or $70 for one person); $55 each for two people from Burlington (or $110 for one person), etc. Please inquire about the cost when you make your reservation.

RCT also operates a regular shuttle service from White River Junction and St. Johnsbury (the closest town to Milarepa) to the Barnet Park and Ride (the closest stop to Milarepa) so check their website for scheduled times and costs.

Vermont Tour and Charter

Burlington pickups
Vermont Tour and Charter offers pickup from Burlington International Airport and delivery to Milarepa. One-way fee is $130.

OUR AFFILIATION

Milarepa Center is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, also known as the FPMT. This means that our Center follows the spiritual direction of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and uses FPMT’s educational programs and materials, as well as registered FPMT spiritual teachers for programs and is created in the lineage of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Each FPMT center is a individually incorporated 501c3 non-profit legal entity and is responsible for its own governance and finance.
